Our Mission: We cultivate lifelong learners by integrating STEAM content through Project-Based Learning and Design Thinking. We are committed to nurturing the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—ensuring every student is GEARed UP for college, career, and beyond.

At Ocala, STEAM is more than just an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math—it is a mindset. We move beyond traditional textbooks by using the Design Thinking process to bridge these subjects together. By integrating the Arts into technical fields, we encourage students to think creatively, visualize complex data, and communicate their solutions with empathy and style. At Ocala, STEAM means learning by doing.

Ocala STEAM Academy is a vibrant learning community where innovation meets tradition. We take pride in being a place where diverse voices come together to create a collective impact. Our campus serves as a laboratory for the future, utilizing Project-Based Learning (PBL) to turn students into real-world problem solvers who are truly "GEARed UP" for their future.

We believe a complete middle school experience happens both in the lab and on the field. Ocala is defined by a dynamic school culture and a deep sense of Cougar pride. Our athletic programs are a cornerstone of our community, teaching teamwork, resilience, and leadership. Whether it’s through spirited rallies, competitive sports, or collaborative STEAM projects, the energy at Ocala is fueled by a staff and community dedicated to building a stronger, more connected San Jose.
